DAZ

The Deutsches Architektur Zentrum DAZ is the Berlin-based venue of the Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten BDA (Association of German Architects) for exchange and debate on architecture, the city and the built environment. Located in the heart of Berlin, the DAZ connects architecture with perspectives from culture, society and politics, and provides space for events, exhibitions and other formats.

The DAZ was founded in 1995 on the initiative of the BDA in Berlin and has since been shaped by different artistic and curatorial perspectives as well as a diverse range of programmes. From 2000 to 2011, the DAZ was directed by Kristien Ring, followed by Matthias Böttger from 2011 to 2022. From 2022 to 2024, Alesa Mustar and Laura Holzberg jointly served as artistic directors. From 2024 to 2026, Laura Holzberg continued as sole artistic director.
