The Deutsches Architektur Zentrum DAZ is entering a new phase. As the organisation responsible for the DAZ, the Bund Deutscher Architektinnen und Architekten BDA is currently redefining the DAZ’s future role within the association. A key question in this process is what role the venue can play in the future as a place for exchange and debate on architecture, the city and the built environment. The process is deliberately open-ended.

With the conclusion of its previous curated exhibition programme, an important chapter in the history of the DAZ comes to an end. The exhibition Baustelle Transformation. Zehn Strategien für Stadt und Land, jointly developed by the BDA and DAZ, will continue to be coordinated by the BDA and presented at venues across Germany. As a travelling exhibition, it brings the themes and positions of the BDA and DAZ to new places and audiences.

The DAZ in Berlin will remain a venue for events. In the future, its spaces will increasingly be available for BDA formats as well as for external events and rentals. The Taut and Scharoun Halls will continue to provide space for conferences, workshops, discussions and other formats.
