CAVE – Computer Aided Virtual Environment

Lecture of Designer Sven Schneider (Miele Designcenter) 27. Mai 2009
7.00 PM DAZ_Taut Saal

The DAZ and Miele invite you for the lecture of industrial-designer Sven Schneider. The head of the Miele Department for Advanced Design will introduce the projection-technique CAVE - Computer Aided Virtual Environment.

CAVE enables to create a three-dimensional, virtual 1:1 model that makes it possible for planners to interact immediately. In terms of virtual realistic three-dimensional models the automotive and aircraft industry leads the field. Miele shows the rising impact of CAVE for the visualisation of architecture- and interior projects. CAVE minimizes the production of prototypes and allows to work simultaneously with cooperating teams at one model, for instance the accessablity and user friendliness of products and projects can be proved directly by the architect in the real model.

The DAZ Corporate Partner Miele invites ten architectural offices to test the projection- echnique in the Designcenter in Gütersloh. Three out of ten will have the chance to experience their own designs in full-scale. Please apply with a current project, referably from the interior sector. We are looking forward to your sendings via mail (PDF, max. 1 MB) until the June 5th, 2009, to mail@daz.de.
