Kisho Kurokawa - Metabolism and Symbiosis

The theme “Metabolism and Symbiosis” explains the philosophy of Kisho Kurokawa throughout his architectural activities, from his early career in the 1960’s to today. The exhibition at The German Center for Architecture DAZ(Deutsches Architektur Zentrum) showed detail and full scale drawings, accompanied by hand made mini models in scales between 1:500 and 1:1000. This exhibition at the DAZ in Berlin is based on the exhibition which has been held at the DAM in Frankfurt from April until June 2005. The exhibition encompassed the Capsule Tower and Sony Tower projects of the early 1970’s to Kurokawa’s recent works; The National Art Center in Tokyo which is currently still under construction, and the planning of a new city in China for a population of 1.5 million.
